If you're a first-year or transfer student alumni of Tougaloo College, you're likely acquainted with the Comprehensive Academic Resources Program, affectionately known as CARD. CARD was tailored to ease the academic transition from high school to college, offering invaluable support services to bridge that pivotal gap.
Among these services, there was one gem that truly stood out – MIS 101, lovingly dubbed 'Mission: Involvement.' This course wasn't just about learning your academic preferences; it was a catalyst for something much more profound. It served as the foundation for social integration within the academic sphere, nurturing lasting friendships, sparking intimate connections, and instilling a deep commitment to community. In essence, I am a proud product of 'Mission: Involvement.
